The influence of the scale up on the local rheological properties of gas fluidized beds

1974
Abstract Local shear diagrams and particle number densities were measured in the gap of two coaxial cylinders in gas fluidized beds of different dimensions by couette- and electric capacity techniques respectively. The flow equations were evaluated from the shear diagrams, fitted to sinh-functions and explained by the hole theory of Eyring. Quantitative relations were developed between the two constants of the flow equations and the flow rates, position of the probe in the bed and dimensions of the equipment.
