Simulation Of The Paris Heat Island DuringTwo Strong Pollution Events

1970
Simulations of the Paris heat island have been done for two pollution events, one in winter and one in summer. First, a one-dimensional boundary-layer model has been used to perform sensitivity studies and surface energy budgets. Then, 3d simulations have been performed with the non-hydrostatic model MERCURE, with the same set of physical parameterizations as in the Id simulations, and by using the outputs of the operational model of Meteo-France as large scale forcing. The results show a good agreement with the observed surface temperature field deduced from measurements at different meteorological stations in Paris area.
