Morphological Analysis and Phase Identification of Copper Oxide Doped Silicone Oxide (CuO/SiO)

2021
A series of copper oxide doped silicone oxide (CuO/SiO) catalyst was prepared via impregnation technique. Copper oxide was impregnated on the surface of silicone oxide which act as a base. The catalyst was calcined from 400–800 oC for 17 h. The surface morphological features of the catalyst were identified using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the existence of phases of the catalyst was determined by x-ray diffraction (XRD). From SEM, it was identified that all the catalysts have cubical shape particles with different range of particle sizes. From XRD analysis, it was identified that CuO cubic oxide was present with increasing degree of crystallinity upon increasing the calcination temperature from 400–800 oC.
