Quasiconserved macrovariables and depolarized light scattering in viscous liquids

Abstract It is shown that every macrovariable from a set which gives the complete macroscopic description of a substance, has a significant conserved component. Using this a new and comparatively simple expression for the depolarized light scattering spectra of viscous liquid is derived.
