Analog-analog Pilihan Siswa untuk Cahaya Merambat Lurus

As a part of science materials delivered in elementary school, light has a unique feature that can be illustrated analogically with various students’ everyday life events. This paper discusses a part of result of a qualitative research having a purpose of exploring culture-based student’ analogical thinking skill. The discussion has been done to the analogs, chosen by students, of light property of traveling in a straight line. The data were gathered through interview, literature study and observation from several sources at four elementary schools located in Banyumas area. Based on the data analysis and discussion, it was concluded that cultural background surrounding students’ daily activities becomes an integral part of the students’ analogs selection for light travels in a straight line.
