Orientation in extruded BeO

1964
Abstract Characteristic particle shape in three types of BeO powder used for extrusion was shown to control the amount and direction of preferred orientation in extruded rods. The enhancement of orientation during grain growth was demonstrated. A quantitative measurement of orientation distribution was used with thermal expansion and Young's modulus measurements on polycrystalline rods of varying orientation to resolve these properties along the principal crystallographic axes.
