A METAFICÇÃO HISTORIOGRÁFICA EM MEMORIAL DO CONVENTO DE JOSÉ SARAMAGO THE HISTORIOGRAPHICAL METAFICTION IN MEMORIAL DO CONVENTO

Memorial do Convento is an important reflection on the history of Portuguese society of the eighteenth century and its impact today. It is known that the author, Jose Saramago, conceives fiction from the record of history. Thus, in the following lines it is highlighted how the writer treats the history at the heart of literary aesthetics, rescuing it critically and subverting it, that is, dealing with the history in a meta-fictional way in the exponential work of post-modern narrative.
