The anesthetic system for the provision of a gas to be inhaled, enriched with anesthetic agents, includes an anesthesia machine and at least one metering device of anesthetic agents (3), which is removably coupled with 'anesthesia machine, a fluid connection (7, 8, 9) between the anesthesia machine and the metering device, at least one optical interface between the anesthesia machine and the metering device, and at least a display device in the metering device. The optical interface includes at least one light source (10), which is provided in the anesthesia machine, and at least one light conductor, which is provided in the metering device of anesthetic agents (3) .The light injected by the light source (10) towards the inside of the light guide is guided through the light guide to the display device, for illuminating directly or indirectly thereon.
