18 F Fluorodeoxyglucose PET and Thyroid Nodules

The objective of this chapter is to review the 18F-FDG-PET and PET-CT detection of incidental uptake in the thyroid, the patterns of 18F-FDG-PET uptake, the significance of the standard uptake value (SUV), and the management of 18F-FDG-PET incidental thyroid lesions.
