The continuous and coordinated control method of Captive Trajectory System in a Transonic Wind Tunnel

The flying trajectory simulation of store after being separated from the mother plane is a kind of advanced and difficult technique in wind tunnel test. The continuous and coordinated test based on velocity control is studied for the first time in the Captive Trajectory System (CTS) used in a domestic Transonic Wind Tunnel. In this paper, the dynamic trajectory predicting principle is introduced' and the move-and-stop control and velocity control mode are discussed. In order to improve the CTS test efficiency, two process of the continuous and coordinated control method based on velocity control are designed and realized. The Kalman filtering is also applied to process the balance signals to resolve the conflict between hardware filtering delay and accuracy requirements. The CTS tests using the continuous and coordinated control method based on velocity control in a Transonic Wind Tunnel show that the Kalman filtering is very effective' and the separation trajectories generated by velocity control fit well with the separation trajectories generated by the move-and-stop control if the initial test conditions are same. Meanwhile the wind tunnel tests achieve higher efficiency.
