Independence polynomials and Alexander-Conway polynomials of plumbing links

Abstract We use the Chudnovsky-Seymour Real Root Theorem for independence polynomials to obtain some statements about the coefficients and roots of the Alexander and Conway polynomial of some types of plumbing links, addressing conjectures of Fox, Hoste and Liechti.
