Changes of serum thrombopoietin level in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and its influence by "Sheng Xue Ling"

Objective To observe the level of serum thrombopoietin(TPO) in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP) and investigate its influence by "Sheng Xue Ling". Methods The level of serum TPO was detected in 34 ITP patients(observation group) and 20 healthy people(control group).The 34 cases were treated by "Sheng Xue Ling".The level of serum TPO,peripheral platelet and marrow megakaryocyte were assayed before and after treatment. Results There was no difference in the level of serum TPO between the observation and control groups(P0.05).After treatment,the level of serum TPO,peripheral platelet and marrow megakaryocyte were obviously increased in the observation group(P0.05,P0.01). Conclusion TPO changes little in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP);"Sheng Xue Ling" can regulate the secretion of TPO,promote the proliferation and differentiation of megakaryocyte and produce platelet.
