Direct current cardioversion (DCCV) is proven to restore sinus rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation. Thrombus seen on transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) however precludes the procedure. Though not indicative of a thrombus, spontaneous echo contrast (SEC) on TEE has been independently
