Assim nasce a geografia da pandemia: aportes teóricos, enfoques e temas para pensar o território

This article intends to discuss the emergence of the geography of pandemics, considering that de new coronavirus crisis is multiscale, multidimensional, whose development and evolution occurs in a specific time-space and profoundly impacts the territories. The study is based on an extensive bibliographic research and on the empirical observation of the brazilian reality and using the broad conceptual and theorical-methodological baggage of Human Geography, rising questions about approaches, topics and analysis perspective related to the control of the Covid-19. The importance of Geography is highlighted due to its internal diversity and spatial, dialectical and critical approach. In this context of exceptional crisis, thinkers are revisited, mapping tools become more popular, and the socio-territorial inequalities gets clearer. As a result, we identify a collective effort – a movement – to consolidate the geography of pandemic as a science that points out theorical and practical ways to scientific and political actions to deal with the actual sanitary crisis.
