Medicolegal implications of defence wounds

2012
Defense wounds are the injuries sustained by the victim as he/she is trying to instinctively protect/defend himself/herself against an attack of the assailant. The nature, site, and distribution of such injuries are circumstancedependent. Even gunshot wounds may be designated as defensive in character depending upon the circumstance. At occasions, rare presentation of such injuries may be demonstrable on the accused too.
