Case Study of Pump Planning at PIT Donggang Utara Blok 32 Open Mining, PT Buana Bara Ekapratama

2018
Open mining activities will provide problems with environmental damage that includes biophysical aspects. Environmental problems in the mining industry are caused by the volume of water that is difficult to control in the mining area. One effort to control the volume of water in the mining area is to use a piping and pumping system. This study uses quantitative methods to obtain available pump discharge. Pump curve performance is used to obtain a debit that matches the input of water entering the mining area. The pump available in the field is Sykes CP150i with a total head of 22m and is capable of producing a discharge of 48.06l/s. The replacement of pumps and pipes is recommended so that the pumping system is in accordance with the needs of the mine area. The pump that is suitable for the 22m head is Multi-Flow HV90 and is capable of producing a discharge of 290l/s or Multi-flow 290 and HDPE pipe with the head value being changed to 70m
