PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch over a data stream without storing the data stream in a buffer. SOLUTION: A data stream transfer device 100 for switching over the data stream by using a pause burst signal, includes: a header interval-measuring section 40 for measuring timing difference between the data stream and the pause burst signal; a length code-calculating section 50 for calculating length of the pause burst signal for adjustment, according to the timing difference measured by the header interval-measuring section 40; and a pause burst signal-creating section 10 for creating the pause burst signal for adjustment of the length calculated by the length code-calculating section 50.
