Research on Mechanism and Process of the Shuicheng Landslide in Guizhou Based on UAV Images

2020
Research on the mechanism, process and the factors inducing landslides has certain reference significance for identifying hidden dangers of landslides in similar environments and carrying out monitoring and early warning. A landslide occurred in Shuicheng County, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, on July 23, 2019. After the disaster, we quickly used satellite time series images and UAV images to study and analyse the natural geographic conditions and landslide characteristics. Studies have shown that the main factors inducing this landslide were single-point heavy rain and regional long-term continuous rainfall and were related to regional topography and stratum lithology. The accumulated rainfall in the landslide area reached 372.1 mm in July, and the rainfall on the day of the landslide reached 48.8 mm, which is close to the magnitude of heavy rain. The loose basaltic weathered residual soil layer provides the geological conditions for landslides. The roadside convex bank provided terrain conditions. These elements together caused the disaster.
