Measurement of time-dependent CP asymmetries and the CP-odd fraction in the decay B-0 -> D*+D*- RID C-2728-2008 RID C-5223-2009 RID C-5719-2008 RID D-1055-2009 RID A-2675-2009

We present an updated measurement of time-dependent $CP$ asymmetries and the $CP$-odd fraction in the decay ${B}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{D}^{*+}{D}^{*\ensuremath{-}}$ using $232\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}B\overline{B}$ pairs collected by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II $B$ factory. We determine the $CP$-odd fraction to be $0.125\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.044(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.007(\mathrm{syst})$. The time-dependent $CP$ asymmetry parameters ${C}_{+}$ and ${S}_{+}$ are determined to be $0.06\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.17(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03(\mathrm{syst})$ and $\ensuremath{-}0.75\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.25(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.03(\mathrm{syst})$, respectively. The standard model predicts these parameters to be 0 and $\ensuremath{-}\mathrm{sin}2\ensuremath{\beta}$, respectively, in the absence of penguin amplitude contributions.
