Estructura y dinámica de los manglares en la península de Guanahacabibes. Gestión para su conservación

2020
It has shown the result of the evaluation of the north coastal mangrove in Guanahacabibes National Park, affected by hurricane and anthropic activities of human ravaging. The objective of the research was to evaluate and to compare the structure and mangrove dynamic to management its conservation. Were used: the mangrove monitoring protocol, a metric band, caliper and Suunto hypsometer, for counting, measuring and statistical analyze in three plots of (10 x 10 m) for each locality (N=9), covering 900 m2 in: Bolondron, Carabelita and La Fe. Were measured the three states of forest development, with huge difference among localities variables: species composition, richness, diameter, formation height, basal area, characteristics of the soil, salinity, structural variants, affectation by hurricane and density of individuals. The representative species in the mangrove forest are Rhizophora mangle, Avicennia germinans, Laguncularia racemosa y Conocarpus erectus. This forest formation had low values in height, basal area with differences among them. The hurricane affected the density, composition, structural variables and increased the soil salinity level. The management program included eleven afforestation activities to restore and help the ecosystem resilience.
