DEVELOPMENT OF CYTOCHROME P450 BIOMARKERS FROM POSIDONIA OCEANICA.

Abstract In order to investigate the effect of pollutants on the induction of cinnamic acid 4-hydroxylase (CA4H) at the transcriptional level, a cDNA library was constructed from the sea grass Posidonia oceanica. The isolation of a partial cDNA encoding for the posidonia CA4H and the development of an efficient and sensitive method for the preparation of mRNA open new perspectives for a rapid measurement of CA4H transcripts in posidonia exposed to sea pollution.
