The related clinicopathologic analysis of S100A9 Expression in colorectal carcinoma and adenoma

2010
Objective To discuss the expression and clinicopathologic significance of S100A9 in colorectal carcinoma and adenoma. Methods The 31 intestinal biopsy specimen were taken from patients with colorectal adenoma and 53 carcinoma,53 adjacent corresponding intestinal mucosal tissues were detected by immunohistochemical staining and real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR.Results There was negative expression of S100A9 in adjacent corresponding colorectal tissues. The positive expression rate of S100A9 was 25.8%(8/31)in colorectal adenoma and 71.7%(38/53)in colorectal carcinoma.Contrasted to colorectal adenoma and its adjacent tissues,Sl00A9 expression in colorectal carcinoma was obviously increased(P0.05).The expression of S100A9 was positively correlated with histopathobigical grades(P0.05),but not with other c1inicopathological factors(P0.05).Conclusions The expression of S100A9 may be associated with carcinogenesis and progression of colorectal carcinoma, perhaps becoming a new biomarker.
