Nitrate and nitrite are the precursors of tobacco-specific nitrosamines which is the strongest carcinogen.Some approaches and methods to reduce the contents of nitrate and nitrite were entirely summarized from environmental conditions,nutrient elements,inherited breeding,curing,chemistry treatment and cigarette technology,which are most important to interdiction the formation of TSNA,thereby to enhance cigarette smoking security,decreasing the harmful to people's health.
