Desarrollo de un juego para la promoción de la salud mental en la Pontificia universidad Javeriana Rasif : en la búsqueda de un mañana

2020
Academic institutions such as the Pontificial Xaverian University offer support services for mental health from a number of different perspectives and have implemented an ample catalogof programs looking to provide the appropriate attention for each user, nonetheless, due to this extense volume of programs some users tend to feel overwhelmed and not know where to start. That is where it makes itself evident the need of maintaining human contact, even if it is not coming from a health professional, isolation is one of the most common factors that health professionals tend to ask for since the presence of support form a community can help slow and stabilize discomforts, but even worse, the lack of it can accelerate the development of mental disorders an harmful behaviours. The possibility of developing a system that orients a larger number of users in the same time that would usually take for just one office visit at the CAPS (Health and psychological counceling center) seems highly attractive and beneficial for the involved parties: the CAPS, users and University. Adding the benefit of using that time for the learning of tools that will help identify and address their emotional discomforts is an opportunity that must definitely be exploited, for which RASIF is proposed as the development of a boardgame assists the psychological orientation process to look over a higher number of users, with the capability of group-orientation with the help of an intermediary element and encourage interaction between users to fund support communities.
