A Study on the Relationships among the Cognition of Environment, Self-Efficacy and Activity Involvement of Senior Elementary School Swimmers- A Case Study of Penghu

This research aims to investigate the relationships among the cognition of environment, self-efficacy, and activity involvement of senior elementary school swimmers, using students in Penghu area as the research subjects. Questionnaires were used to obtain data; 300 questionnaires were issued of which 280 were returned (93.3%). After the elimination of 50 invalid copies, 230 valid questionnaires (82.1%) were used for the research. The data were analyzed by AMOS19.0. The results show that: (1) knowledge of the physical activity environment has a significant effect on involvement in an activity; (2) the knowledge of the physical activity environment has a significant effect on self-efficacy; (3) self-efficacy has a significant effect on activity involvement. The research results are expected to serve as a reference for Taiwan’s educational authorities and schools regarding the promotion of swimming.
