Automatic Refueling Platform System and Automatic Control Rod Drive Remote Handling System for BWR Nuclear Power Plants

Abstract This paper introduces some of the mechanized and automated systems already applied to nuclear power plants in service, and describes the resulting significant contributions to shorter outage time, reduced personnel exposure, and improved plant reliability. The systems discussed are an automatic refueling system and an automatic remote handling system for control rod drive (CRD).
