Mechanical Characteristics of Anchorage Interface Based on Fractal Theory

2010
Mechanical characteristics of anchorage-body interface were studied by using fractal theory. The influence to fractal dimension of anchorage-body interface caused by the sand factor of grouting material and the sand fineness was studied. The study shows that the fractal dimension and the roughness coefficient of the interface increase with the increase of sand factor, and decrease with the decrease of sand factor. The fractal dimension of the interface decreases with the increase of the fractal dimension of sand fineness, on the contrary, the fractal dimension of the interface increases. The results show that fractal theory provides a new method of studying mechanical characteristics of anchorage-body interface. During anchorage design, sand factor of grouting material may be optimized based on the analysis of the fractal dimension of sand fineness of grouting material, in addition, the fractal dimension and roughness of anchorage-body interface may be increased to improve the shearing resistance of the interface.
