Report on the Session

Session III part 1 involved seven verbal presentations and was attended by more than 100 delegates. Six points were considered of key importance by the two nominated raporteurs of the session. Five of these identify areas where further research is required while the last is a warning to EC states that the current phase of forest recovery may be followed by a new cycle of forest decline. Some of the more interesting ideas which were presented at the session with regard to forest decline are also outlined.
