Molding mixture and feeders for aluminum casting

The invention relates to an exothermic molding mixture for producing feeders for aluminum casting, at least comprising: - a refractory mold raw material; - a binder; - based on the molding mixture a proportion of an oxidizable metal 5-18 wt .-%; - an oxidizing agent in a proportion, based on the complete oxidation of the oxidizable metal required amount of the oxidant, from 10 to 50% and - an ignition means for the oxidation of the oxidizable metal in a proportion of 15 to 50 wt .-%, based on the amount of the oxidizable metal. An article prepared from the exothermic molding mixture Speiser ignites reliably even at low temperatures and is characterized by a low heat emission. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for aluminum casting.
