HL‐A Antigens of the Indiana Amish.

2008
Genetic analysis of HL-A, MLR and other immunologic studies are difficult to conduct in a typical Caucasian population where families tend to be small and lineage complex. The use of a genetically isolated, consanguinous population with extensive family records has marked advantages. The Indiana Amish, numbering some 10,000 individuals, include many large multigeneration and interrelated family groups. We present here an initial summary on HL-A typing results of the Amish in Indiana.
