Prediction of tensile behavior of polymer composite golf shaft

Abstract Polymer composites play a vital role in modern society by reshaping the world of manufacturing sectors. Nowadays, they have been selected as the material of choice for structural, mechanical and sporting applications due to their high stiffness/weight ratio. In the field of sports, composite materials play a vital role .One such application is that of the golf shaft. The extensive strength and hardness of polypropylene is one of the cardinal reasons why it is used extensively for making golf shaft. This work deals with prediction of tensile behavior of polypropylene golf shafts whose values are evaluated experimentally and characterized accordingly. The results of tensile tests seem to adhere to the rules of the experimental data and therefore these results will be fruitful for usage in polypropylene golf shafts for sports.
