“Pursuit, Willfulness, and the Strangeness of Strangers” is an edited transcription of a keynote address delivered at the 2018 International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts in Florida on March 15. The paper explores a number of connections between Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and contemporary personal and political anxieties and experiences.
