The effect of a diaphragm discharge and ozone on an active bright-red dye 6C solution

2013
The optical density alteration data for a monochlorotriazine active azo dye solution under the action of a diaphragm discharge and ozone are presented. The efficiency of these oxidizing systems is found to depend on the solution medium. The change of the dye colored centers’ concentration under the action of a diaphragm discharge appears only in an acid medium, whereas ozone has a pronounced effect both in acid and alkaline mediums. The additivity effect of the joint activity of the investigated oxidizing systems is not found. In some cases, the decrease of the additivity effect is observed.
