Application of Buzhong Yiqi Decoction in the Treatment of Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a common thyroid disease. Chinese traditional treating hypothyroidism through regulating spleen and stomach always obtains curative effect. This paper discusses the pathogenesis and the prescriptions about Buzhongyiqi decoction in the treatment of decline disease of thyroid function. After many years clinical validation necessary,spleen weakness is the main type of hypothyroidism. LI Dongyuan recommends "internal injuries spleen and stomach produce every disease",so strengthening the spleen and stomach can use to treat hypothyroidism. And Buzhong Yiqi decoction is an infrastructure of replenishing qi to invigorate the spleen,using "warming and tonifying deficiency"and"reinforcing the injury" as principle. So it is applied in the clinical treatment of hypothyroidism is often achieved very good results.
