This study explores the methods and effects of the parent education program regarding behavioral problems of disability students published in a local academic journal from 2000 to August 2019. A total of 20 papers were selected based on seven criteria and the process of selecting a series of papers, and a total of 20 papers were analyzed with respect to general characteristics and trends, and the characteristics of the parent education programs used for each paper. As a result, first, the target of the parent education program was the mother, with the place where the program was conducted was the treatment center, and the number of times it was conducted was once a week. Second, the problem behavior of students with disabilities, which was effective in remedying through parent education programs, had the most externalized behavior, and among them, ADHD-related problem behavior accounted for the majority. In addition, changes in parents related to behavioral problems were effective in dealing with parenting stress. Third, in 45% of the papers, the level of maintenance and generalization of parent education programs was measured, and the conclusion that maintenance and generalization were carried out well, and social feasibility was measured in 30% of the papers. Based on the above findings, we discussed and suggested future research directions of parent education programs regarding behavioral problems of students with disabilities.
