Starter-Generator Differential Electric Drive of the Medium-Powered Indastrial Vehilces

The paper considers the requirements and operation features of the electrical components of medium-power vehicles. The experimental data of scrolling torque of the diesel engines crankshaft are presented. The characteristics of serial generators used on domestic tractors are given. Implementation variations for a starter-generator, based on a differential electric drive, are described. Kinematic control schemes are considered providing the main modes of operation of the starter-generator. A mathematical model of the differential electric drive of the starter-generator has been developed based on a field regulated reluctance machine. The research outcomes prove the performance and aptitude of the mathematical model. The transfer functions of the main links of differential electric drive's mathematical model are given. The control circuits of the armature current, excitation current, speed and torque are selected and configured. Using the frequency analysis method, the operating characteristics of the starter generator are obtained.
