Electron microscopic study on influenza virus hemagglutination: pinocytosis of virions by red cells.

Both influenza virus particles (several strains) and latex particles were added to human and fowl erythrocytes. After short periods of incubation both types of particles were found within pinocytotic vesicles of these cells.
