On the Philosophical Thought of Wen Xin Diao Long

The thought of Wen Xin Diao Long written by Liu Xie, a Junese of Southern Dynasties originates from the philos- ophy of the Book of Changes. The development from "three principles" to the literary ontology, from "the principle of relative changes and absolute steadiness" to the changeability of literature and from "the principle of changes making neutralization" to the theory of artistic harmony has formed a lively "Long Xue", a combination of Yi Xue and literature. This shows that Liu Xie is not only an outstanding literary theoretician but also a philosopher and expert of Yi Xue who is good at reasoning and discrimination.
