Motor Lifetime Prediction for Uneven Load Chart

This paper considers the issues related to lifetime estimation of electric motors at pilger mills and introduces the comprehensive analysis of reference materials. Lifetime prediction methods are considered for the specific duty cycle. The accent is made on the operation mode of electric drive. The evaluation of total losses in the electric drive of a pilger rolling mill is shown. The assessment results of loss components of the pilger mill electric motor and the rated values of electromagnetic torque are applied for lifetime prediction. It’s obvious that complete data on the types of the losses are important for solving the problems set in the work. Hot-spot temperature and expected lifetime of motor insulation at various loads are obtained.
