Features of Calculation of Asynchronous Generator with Autotransformer Wye-Connected Stator Winding

The article reveals the influence of schematic and structural features of stator windings which are connected to an autotransformer wye on the parameters and operational properties of asynchronous generators. Using autotransformer stator windings allows one to connect capacitors to a higher voltage which will reduce the necessary capacitance to excite generator and reduce the necessary excitation current, but, at the same time, the efficiency of asynchronous generator reduces in proportion to the transformation coefficient reduction. The currents of load and currents of capacitors in the parts of a winding are summarized by vectors, and with the displacement of the winding parts relative to each other allows one to adjust the values of total currents in winding parts, so, one should take into account a significant influence of rotor rotation direction and the load power factor. The use of a diametral pitch when constructing of stator winding allows to lay winding parts with different cross-sections into the same slots, i.e. to reduce the cross-section of turns in stator winding parts where the excitation currents flow, and to increase the cross-section of the turns in those parts where total currents of excitation and load will flow, which will significantly reduce the electrical losses and thereby increase the efficiency of electric machine.
