Study on Surface Strengthening Process of Quenched and Tempered Steel 42CrMo

The process of C-N-Y surface strengthening and its effects on the properties of quenched and tempered steel 42CrMo were investigated.The results show that C-N-Y surface strengthening process can make the hardness increase and wear volume decrease compared with the non-strengthened sample.The wear resistance and thermal fatigue resistance of the steel are improved greatly.
