Placental Protein 10 (PP10) in Breast Cancer and Genital Carcinoma

1984
Abstract PP10 was measured radioimmunologically in the serum of normal controls and cancer patients and in tumor extracts. Elevated serum concentrations (>20 nU/ml) were found in 87 % of patients with primary breast cancer and in 100 % of those with genital cancer. The serum levels usually decreased after tumorectomy and rose during the development of metastases. PP10 can therefore be regarded as a tumor associated protein and potential marker.
