Training Deep Neural Networks in Situ with Neuromorphic Photonics

We discuss an optoelectric architecture for executing the direct feedback alignment algorithm for neural network training. Using 1000 microring resonators, we can theoretically obtain speeds of 9.95 tera operations per second.
