Matching the LM1600 gas turbine power and efficiency to a 10-13 MW cogeneration system

1986
The LM1600 combines the latest technologies of high loading, low aspect ratio blade design, advanced cooling, and corrosion-resistant materials and coatings to provide exceptional reliability, ease of operation and maintenance, and high efficiency. Attention has been given to extending parts life and time between major inspections and overhauls, resulting in lower operating and support costs to the customer. The LM1600 simple-cycle gas turbine achieves an extremely high efficiency, which is better than currently available gas turbines in its power class, without sacrificing reliability and maintainability. The application of this highly efficient gas turbine to the continually expanding area of cogeneration is discussed in this paper.
