Perfil nutricional e antropométrico de praticantes recreacionais de surf do sexo feminino

2021
Surfing is a sport that has increased in popularity especially in recent years. There is little evidence to investigate dietary and anthropometric aspects of non-professional surfers. Thus, the aim of the present study was to analyze the nutritional practices and anthropometric profile of re-creational female surfers. The research was cross-sectional, with a quantitative approach, carried out from September to October 2019 in Fortaleza, Ceara. Seventeen 17 female recreational surfers were assessed. A food frequency questionnaire was used to check eating habits, and body weight, height, body circumference and fat percentage were checked. The participants had an average age and BMI of 26.5 ±5.21 years and 21.79 ±1.62 kg/m2, respectively. All of them presented values of fat percentage, as well as anthropometric data, within the normal range. The training time did not show any correlation with the body composition variables (p>0.05). There was a low intake of fruit and a preference for cereals. The present study concluded that recreational female surfers present values of body composition within the standards recommended by health organizations, as well as, despite the low intake of fruits, there is a preference for foods from plant sources and animal source to the detriment of the ultra-terminated.
