2013
Objective To assess the efficacy of vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage. Methods Eighty-four patients(84 eyes) with vitreous hemorrhage were included in this study,of which,16 due to diabetic retinopathy, four were traumatic, seven due to retinal detachment,56 caused by retinal vein obstruction(RVO) and one due to polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy(PCV).All of them underwent vitrectomy. Results Postoperatively,a three-month follow-up showed the vision improved in 79 eyes of different extent,55 eyes' vision improved in a row,the success rate of treatment being 65.48%,of which, the best results were obtained in those with RVO and traumatic vitreous hemorrhage.Postoperative high intraocular pressure occurred in 15 eyes, retinal detachment in three, complicated cataract in three and recurrent vitreous hemorrhage in 10.Conclusion Vitrectomy is an important and effective therapy for vitreous hemorrhage caused by various reasons.
