Site inspection practice in construction projects in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Inefficiency of site inspection could negatively affect the construction project during construction stages. The essential issue that has driven to this study is lack of awareness of industry players and to provide the industry an alternative way to improve their current practice to be more effective. The research method involves systematic review of literature and questionnaire especially for Grade G7 contractors in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The research findings show that majority of contractors still depend on traditional approach where paper-based form of assessment being practiced during construction project implementation. Data confusion is found to be the major issue in paper-based form due to missing, inconsistency data and time consuming. This study is to introduce the modern technology in site inspection that can help industry to improve their quality in construction works.
