Research and Application of Correlation between Beam End Displacement and Temperature of Long-span Suspension Bridge

The seasonal correlation analysis between beam end displacement and temperature of Runyang Suspension Bridge was performed with regard to the 160 days health monitoring data,which was applied to the structural state monitoring.Aimed at the remarkable seasonal correlation of the bridge,the statistical technique based on 6-order polynomial was applied to simulate the correlation between the natural beam end displacement and temperature.The abnormal changes of beam end displacements were identified and classified by using the mean value control chart.The annual variances of south and north beam end displacements caused by temperature are 38.8 cm and 37.4 cm respectively.The mean value control chart can exhibit good capability for detecting the damage-induced 0.8 cm variances of beam end displacement.The result reveals that the proposed method can effectively eliminate temperature influence from displacement and identify the abnormal change of displacement caused by structural damage.
