Lale Krizinden Günümüze Ekonomik Krizler: Temel Yaklaşımlar ve Ortak Özellikler

2018
Many economic crises took place in the history of the world economy and these economic fluctuations have caused a material depression on economic actors as well as an intangible depression on them. Many shakeouts occured in the World economy until the 17th century, many people and companies were stuck in a difficult situation going bankrupt as a result of economic fluctuations such as Tulipmania. Besides having low impact within the economy, these fluctuations were regarded as small deviations from equilibrium in the classical economic doctrine. For these reasons the concept of “crisis” was not much emphasized. The production and trade structure, which has changed in consequence of technological revolutions in the 19th century, has greatly increased the relations among countries. Ending limitations between countries has caused crises to spread across borders as a contagious disease and the increasing frequency of crises has also influenced the emergence of different views within economic thought. In this study, examples are taken from the major crises experienced from the Tulipmania to the 2008 crisis. The approaches of economics schools to these crises are emphasized and a common feature set for crises has been tried to be established.
