The Scientific Paper— How to Prepare It, How to Write It

The earlier text, published first as a mimeographed pamphlet under the title, "Preparation of Scientific and Technical Papers," has been thoroughly revised and largely rewritten. The directions given are for the preparation of a thesis or dissertation, but they apply also to the writing of other types of scientific papers, and to the preparation of manuscripts on scientific or technical subjects. The book serves as a useful guide and reference in this particular field. It is unfortunate that literature references are not given in the form of the Quarterly Cumulative Index Medicus. The style, therefore, in this respect differs considerably from that ordinarily used in medical literature.
